Discontinuous Time Organisms

The Monkey King Vali's Funeral Pyre: Illustrated folio from a dispersed Ramayana series

I am in completely different states in the morning and evening.

In the morning, it's like a newly booted computer, fast but not running any software. In the evening, it's like a computer that has been running all day, maybe a bit laggy, but all programs can be accessed instantly.

When I can't control my emotions, I go to sleep. After one or two sleeps, my mood returns to calm.

Sleep is just a moment#

Sleeping is like death. Some people fall asleep because they are too tired, some because they are in a bad mood. Some people want to sleep but can't, some don't want to sleep but fall asleep.

Child Asleep (The Rosebud)

In sleep, I temporarily disappear. Life exists in time, it is a continuous existence. We don't feel how long we have been asleep. Sleep is just a moment for us.

It is because the actual time we are in is only the present, and everything in the past is just a moment, that we feel the illusion.

The fog of religion#

Survival is the greatest religion.

The Harvesters

Anyone who can discuss issues with us is a living person. Except for those who are obsessed with death, no one is against being alive. Among them, the vast majority are pursuing life. Therefore, survival is the greatest consensus and becomes the "truth". It is because of this that we cannot break free from the bondage of this doctrine, remain silent about life and death, and be blinded by a leaf.

And what pierces this greatest religion is death. This booth believes that life and death are determined by momentum. Everything that exists follows certain rules and has a specific appearance. Humans are no exception. Therefore, death is just the loss of the carrier of existence. If the carrier is intact, life will naturally occur. It may not be me anymore, but what am I?

What am I#

Death is just the loss of the carrier, and life is the reemergence of the carrier.

Rituals and objectivism#

Birth and death are like a huge ritual - summoning souls. It is because of this idea that we always want to express something that allows the soul to rest in peace at funerals. Previously, it was a huge torch made of reeds, and now it is a small flashlight, illuminating the way forward, symbolizing the departure of the deceased. However, this kind of ritual is too subjective, but the ritual is necessary, which is objectivism.

Self-perceived continuity of existence#

素晴らしき日々 〜不連続存在〜

After waking up from a nap, am I still me? Of course, I am still me. Even after reshaping the carrier, I am still me. Humans are a continuous existence, but it is a self-perceived continuity, and what humans can understand is only continuity. Discontinuous time is meaningless to humans, transcendently objective.

"I" is an illusion#

This East Javanese relief depicts the Buddha in his final days

"I" is also just an objective concept, thinking that there is really an "I" is actually an illusion.

Objective, therefore illusory#

Paradoxically, being objective enough is the greatest illusion.
